Wow. Silas at 9 Months was my last entry way back in 2009. Wow. Time is a fast running challenger. Seems to get faster all the time. No matter how hard I train, I will never be able to out run him.

Tomorrow is Silas' 4th birthday party. F.O.U.R.T.H. Four years is a long way from 9 months! Holy moly! My baby is such an amazing young boy. I knew back at 9 months that he was super special, but as I've come to know him over the past 3 years and 3 months since I've been amazed time and again by his sense of empathy. His ability to read the emotion of a situation and either diffuse it or ignite it, depending on his mood (and how much sleep he's had). His wit and understanding of abstract ideas. Happy Birthday Baby Silas!! Thank you for being my little monkey. I love you so very much.
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32204310.post-8384983404879033522009-04-17T19:39:00.002-04:002009-04-17T19:47:19.050-04:00Silas 9 Months OldYes. 9 Months. Wow. Now I've been on the outside as long as I was on the inside! Woo hoo!

I can go up the stairs - all of them. Daddy likes to make me do it. Mommy won't watch. But I crawl up slowly. I think it is fun!

I still like to cruise around on my feet holding onto things. Sometimes I let go for a few seconds before I realize it an gracefully fall to my butt.

My brothers and I play "baby chase" every day. Daddy sets me up near the TV and I start to crawl - FAST - and try to catch my brothers. So far they are faster than I am, but I am gaining every day.

I like to empty the toy box. All of my brother's toys right on the floor. They don't like it when I do it, but I think it's fun! I also like to sit in the swing outside and swing while Vladimir and Waylon play in the dirt or whatever it is they do outside.

I still love food. I like turkey meatballs and avocado. Maybe those are my two favorite things. I also like pancakes. Mommy makes them with rice milk since I am allergic to cow's milk. Yum, yum! I like chicken too. Mommy bakes it and cuts it up for me.

I have 4 teeth now. Two top and two bottom. More are coming because boy oh boy do I drool! I am always wet and I like to slobber on everyone, calling it a "kiss". hehehe...

I like to stand up in the bathtub. It drives mommy nuts! I just have too many things to explore, like the spicket, the drain, the stopper...it is very exciting.

I went to the doctor last week. She said I am "long and lean"! Very unlike my brothers were at my age. They were fat - round, even. Not me! I am tall, 3o inches, in the 75%, but skinny. I only weight 19lbs and that put me in the 25%. Doctor says it is because I spend so much time trying to chase my brothers.

Mommy isn't home right now. She had to go to Texas for work. She should be home tomorrow. Gaga Adzentoivich is staying with us. She has been here for about 2 weeks. I am having so much fun with her. I love her!!!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32204310.post-25358082050893864442009-03-01T21:26:00.014-05:002009-03-01T22:00:07.803-05:00Silas Seven Months Old

At a restaurant after my bed time for Uncle Bryan and Aunt Sam's wedding rehearsal dinner - December 2008

Time flies. 7 months already. Wow. Mommy has been very bad about posting for me. I will forgive her someday, but not sure when.

Let's see. What have I been up to lately? Well, I can sit myself up onto my butt. I can roll any which way I chose. I can get onto my knees and kneel. I also have pulled myself up to standing in my play yard and on the stairs and on toys. I have cruised around dad's room while holding onto the couch. Yes! I can't wait to play with my big brothers!!

Look! I can sit up by myself!!

I like to eat food. Not baby food. Not a bottle. I barely take 20 ounces a day from the bottle. Mommy doesn't nurse me anymore. She stopped about two weeks ago once I began to bite her. I have two sharp bottom teeth on the bottom. But that's it. Just two. I drool a lot so I guess the others are on their way soon.

Me and my favorite sippy cup

So, back to eating. Yes. I like teething cookies. I like Cheerios. I also have a taste for those Gerber finger foods. I tried a piece of banana today and also a few pieces of avocado. Not mashed up, but in pieces. I did a pretty good job getting it all into my mouth. Mommy gave me #3 baby food for dinner with chunks of veggies in it. Yum. I don't really like to eat the baby cereal anymore. Just so much mush.

Vladimir, Waylon and me in our jerseys from Uncle Jeff and Aunt Carleen

I like to laugh. A lot! I also like to talk. I say "ba-ba" for bottle. I say "baa" for bath. Gaga Wood says that I say "papa" but mommy hasn't heard that yet. I like to babble too. Make up my own sounds for stuff. Soon I will be talking with my big brothers!

Hangin with Waylon and Vladimir

I like to watch Waylon and Vladimir. They are so cool. Way cool. Wicked cool. As far as I am concerned. I watch them like a hawk every chance I get! I like to reach out and touch them and they say "no baby!" and move away. Sometimes they give me a hug and kiss but usually mommy or daddy asks them to first. When I cry they say "shhh baby" and if I make noise when they are watching TV they say "shhh baby". They tell me I can't eat food because I have "no teeth baby". I love them!

I am so easy going. I like to take naps. Two per day. I like to sleep through the night too. Mommy and daddy are so happy about that! I nap in my crib with no problem. Mommy or daddy just put me up there and I talk to myself until I fall asleep with my blankie.

I spent the night at Gaga and Papa Wood's house last week. It was my first night away from home and without my brothers. Mommy was traveling for work so it was much easier for daddy without me in the house. I had a blast! I think gaga and papa like it too.

At the farm with Mommy, Waylon and Vladimir

A few weeks ago I went to the farm in Pennsylvania with mommy, daddy, Waylon and Vladimir. What a fun time! We went to a restaurant, Perkins, for lunch. We hiked into the farm. I got to ride in mommy's backpack for the first time and I loved it. There was so much snow. It was really pretty. Then we had dinner at Uncle Tony's house before the long ride home. I slept in the van and went to bed as soon as we got home. I like to ride in the van because I get to look at my brothers the entire time!

My Christening with Uncle Bryan and Aunt Deanne

Back in December I was Christened at Church and I also went to my Uncle Bryan and Aunt Samantha's wedding. Wow does time fly? Mommy has no time to keep up with blogging. Someday baby brother is going to search online and find out that mommy blogged about everything Vladimir and Waylon did in their first year, and barely managed to announce his birth!

Well....mommy is trying. But with three of us under 3 and working full time, there isn't a lot of time for anything else.

Silas is doing great! He rolls over from his tummy to his back. He hold onto his rattle and his toy giraffe. He chews his fingers and his toys all the time. Silas never used a pacifier. In fact, mommy has thrown them all away since he never showed an interest.

Soon Silas will be sitting up. He sits now as long as somebody keeps him steady (usually mommy). He loves to watch his big brothers all day long - until he gets sleepy and needs to take a nap.

Aunt Dee Dee comes over a few days a week and plays with all of us. We love her.

One scarey thing happened two weeks ago. Silas threw up a bunch of times until he turned blue and went limp. Mommy and daddy were so scared. They took him to the Emergency Room as fast as they could. He had to spend the night in the hospital with mommy but they let him come home the next day. The doctors aren't sure why that happened to him. It might have been because he has a Polio and Hepatitis vaccine that morning, or because he drank formula that afternoon. We are going to try to figure it out at his 4 months doctor's visit.

All of us brothers are getting along well. Vladimir likes to hug and kiss Silas. Waylon stays a little further away.

Daddy started asking us if we want another little brother and we both said YES!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32204310.post-30647793185406975242008-09-13T08:38:00.016-04:002008-09-13T09:03:28.061-04:00Silas 8 Weeks Old

Silas is a great baby. We are so lucky! He is sleeping many nights right through from 9:30 until 5:00. Wow. What a difference from his brother's at his age. He is now 23.5 inches long and more than 12 pounds. He holds up his head and has rolled over a few times from tummy to back. He smiles and laughs all the time. I think he is going to be the one who keeps our family lighthearted and looking at the sunny side of life. Not to put pressure on him at such a young age, but he seems to be naturally optimistic and happy. If he cries for more than 5 minutes at a time it is an anomaly. Really. Lucky. Yes, we are.

Waylon in orange and Vladimir in red

Vladimir in white - Waylon in yellow

Waylon and Vladimir

The big brothers are doing great as well. We made it through another year. TWO. Can't believe it. Vladimir and Waylon are TWO!! And they certainly are all that goes along with that age: curious, stubborn, strong-willed, fearless, loud, silly, creative, hilarious, fast and adorable.

The birthday party had to be canceled this year because Mama came down with pneumonia along with two other infections and was in the hospital the week of the party. However, we did manage to have lunch with Gaga and Papa Wood, Papa Adzentoivich, Aunt Dee (and Uncle? Jason), and Joan and Kate McFarland. We had special carrot cake cupcakes and yummy wraps for lunch. And of course, there were the presents!

And the best gift of all is our little brother Silas who is now 6 weeks old. We are all getting along really well. We can't wait until he is big enough to play with us.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32204310.post-32186544563453593532008-07-18T22:01:00.002-04:002008-12-10T10:31:12.968-05:00The Newest A-Boy

Silas W. Three months have passed since the last post!

Here are some recent pics. Talking is still challenging for the boys. Climbing and walking up and down stairs has been mastered. Car seats have been moved to the WAAAAAYY back in anticipation of the third car seat. We are now in real toddler beds. So cute. Grandma A has been living with us since 4/1 and goes back home this Sunday. We went to the Stepping Stones Children's Museum on Mother's Day. We went to a picnic in Brooklyn Memorial Day weekend. We also went to a parade. On Father's Day we went to a picnic at Granny and Grandpa's.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32204310.post-80220415402452381772008-04-30T16:23:00.004-04:002008-05-05T11:09:38.889-04:00Pull Up A SeatA Potty Seat to be precise.

For the past two days in a row Waylon has performed the most amazing feat! This with zero prodding from mom, dad or Grandma A (who is now staying with us, Grandpa is on his way too). For the past two mornings, after breakfast and a morning sippy-cup of milk, Waylon has decided it wouldbe a good idea to POOP IN THE POTTY!!!

Of course, he isn't using the real, grown-up potty. He is using his bright red Baby Bjorn potty which has been situated next to the big-person potty since Christmas. TWO days in a row!

Needless to say we are all very proud. Especially Waylon himself. He is the proudest of us all. Afterwards he enjoyed the big-boy task of flushing the poop down the big potty - all by himself. Then he proceeded to go downstairs where he danced to some old R&B for a while as he built a grand tower with his Mega Blocks.

Vladimir wants to know what all the fuss is about.

So - at 20 months - the boys each say a handful of words - in their own dialect of course. their vocabulary is something like the following (I may be leaving something out here):

Mo (more)
MaMa
DaDa
Daddy
Gap'pa! (grandpa)
BA-l (ball)
Ulalala (umbrella)
Balala (banana)
Bubble
Diaper (this is a rare one)
Napkin (also a rare one)
Abu (toothbrush)
Appo (apple)
YA (yes)
Baby
Hollaaa (a'la Gwen Stefanie)
Jissie (Jinxie, the cat. Vlad says this)

As well as multiple animal sounds either on demand or in response to a picture in a book or a stuffed animal

Ak-Ak (duck)
Hoo-hoo (owl)
Arrrghghgr (lion)
Aowww (dog)
Eow (cat)
Moo (cow)

We have been to an ENT to uncover why there has been fluid in our ears for so long now. And perhapd this fluid is causing a delay in speech development. Unfortunately, and surprisingly, our ENT passed away suddenly last week! Now we have an appointment with a new Dr in June. We will have our hearing tested at that time and if there is still fluid we will discuss the possibility of tubes.

Outside continues to be the favorite place to be. Grandma plays outside for a few hours each day. On the weekends we all go to the BIG playground at the school up the road. We can play there for hours at a time. We always fall asleep on the 5 minute car ride home from the playground, which makes mama and dada very happy.

So far, being 20 months old rocks. We are getting ready for our little brother to arrive in 10 weeks or so. We are excited to be big brothers!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32204310.post-62072204756776369872008-03-31T17:21:00.004-04:002008-12-10T10:31:15.480-05:0019 Months Old
So, mommy never got a chance to post pictures from the 18 month post. ALL BY HIMSELF!!!!

Daddy said after nap we would have lunch and then get to go outside. As soon as the straps were off Waylon climbed out of his high chair, ran to the back door, sat down and put on his boots. ALL BY HIMSELF!

Then, as if that wasn't impressive enough...

He reached in the box of outdoor things and PULLED OUT HIS GLOVES! He asked daddy to put his gloves on for him and he LEFT THEM ON! My son does have some common sense in his head afterall.

After many, many, weeks of playing outside, gloveless, in freezing temperatures he finally realized it is much more fun to play outside when you can actually feel your hands.

Now we only hope that Vladimir gets some big ideas from watching his brother.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32204310.post-57752254671946413452008-02-26T10:47:00.002-05:002008-02-26T11:02:51.294-05:0018 Months OldWow. 18 months. One and a half years old! Time sure flies. It is pretty amazing.

Vladimir is walking up and down the stairs. Usually he holds on to the rail and mommy or daddy's hand. Waylon still goes down on his butt or his knees most times.

Playing outside is a favorite passtime. Even in the cold weather and snow! We found a cool new HUGE playground at a nearby school. That has become our weekend play outing. Our Mall also has a new kids' play area where Daddy and the boys go on Friday mornings before lunch. We have a new little slide/swing in our backyard that gives the guys something to do out there other than play with the snow shovel and the broom. It's a big hit.

Had our 18 month doctor appointment yesterday. We both have all of our teeth except for the 2 year molars. We each weigh 27 3/4 pounds and are 33 1/2 inches tall. We have big heads too (lots of brain in there). Everything is moving along nicely except for our conversational skills. Seems we are more interested in using our own made up words than in speaking like mommy and daddy. Sure, Vladimir likes to walk around saying "baby. baby" and both of us like to utter "apple" now and then. But other than that there isn't too much we say that mommy and daddy can understand.

Doctor says we both have fluid in our ears. This may be why we aren't speaking in iambic pantameter by this point. So now we are on antibiotics to see if it clears up. If not, mommy and daddy are going to have to get rid of Godzilla and Mrs. Jinx (we are allergic). And then we have to go to see an ENT doctor. We might need to get tubes put into our ears to help them drain. But hopefully the antibiotics will do the trick and we won't need to be turned into cyborgs at this early age!

Last weekend we went to New York City to visit our friend Leia. Our friend Noah was there with his mommy and daddy too. We had a fun time with all of Leia's toys. We also visited the Baranello boys last week because mommy had President's Day off of work. We had fun at their house too, even though they are big boys. We liked playing with their Matchbox Cars.

Our new favorite breakfast is cereal with vanilla yogurt. Yummm. And we eat it with big boy spoons now too. We love Cheerios and Honey Nut Cheerios and also all kinds of granola.

We like to read books and point out all of the pictures we see when mommy asks us to. Waylon is very good at always locating the "bowl full of mush" in Goodnight Moon, and also the balloon in Goodnight Gorilla, no matter how small it is. And we love all of the Dr. Seuss books. Especially One Fish, Two Fish and Fox in Socks.

We are down to one nap a day now. And we no longer nap in our swings! Yay! Daddy trained us to nap in our big boy beds. He put our swings in the attic for our little brother to use when he needs them in a few months.

Mommy has a baby brother in her belly. When she asks us where the baby is we like to point to her belly. We are excited for our little brother to join us.

Mommy has lots of pictures to post but they are not on this computer. She will have to post them later.

Bye!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32204310.post-21796464270716133582008-02-01T15:38:00.000-05:002008-02-01T15:42:20.062-05:00Waylon's New DilemaFifths Disease.

It seems that Waylon has it.

The boys' cheeks were very rosy on Sunday. That is the first sign, followed by a low grade fever for a couple of days, which he had, and then a rash on the body, which is what he had when he woke up this morning.

This is a virus. There isn't anything to do about it but wait it out. They say the rash may last about a week or so and then it's over. Once they have it they don't get it again. They also say the rash doesn't itch.

We couldn't figure out why he had the fever because he wasn't coughing or acting sick at all. I think the diareah he had yesterday is also a symptom in some kids (yummy.

It is dangerous to the fetus for pregnant women but my doctor said that I am immune.

Phew!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32204310.post-49476902615128089742008-01-27T20:35:00.000-05:002008-01-27T20:43:14.094-05:0017 Month Old Piano RecitalUnknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32204310.post-92120407063811536622007-12-14T14:59:00.000-05:002007-12-14T15:05:07.246-05:0015 Months and CountingYesterday, Waylon climbed out of his crib. Head first. He is 15 1/2 months old.

Last night, Waylon and Vladimir both spent their first ever night in "big boy beds".

Though nobody slept in a bed.

Our cribs are the "convertible" sort that you can get these days. They go from crib to toddler bed to full size bed with headboard and footboard. So it was very easy for us to make the transition. All mom and dad had to do was take off the front panel and voila! Beds.

Vladimir began the evening sprawled out on the little IKEA couch in his room. Waylon thought he'd try the pillow on the floor in between the two beds. This seemed to work until about midnight.

Mom came in when she heard the noise. Vladimir had fallen from the couch to the pillows on the floor next to the couch. Waylon was swiftly changing positions on the floor.

Long story short, Vladimir had pretty bad cough and so went to mama and daddy's room to "smoke the pipe" (Adzentoivich-speak for the nebulizer). He ended up spending the night there. Waylon moved to the couch and spent the night, very bravely, all alone in his room.

In the morning, Waylon was on the floor, halfway under the crib wondering where the heck everyone else was.

It wasn't a bad first night - but maybe tonight someone will actually try sleeping in a bed...Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32204310.post-16703372341324478822007-10-31T14:07:00.000-04:002008-12-10T10:31:15.971-05:00Happy Halloween!

Yes, it is that fun time of year when Mama and Dada dress us up like animals.
