Some Milestones
We brothers have been very busy developing these past 3 weeks.
Today, Vladimir watched the mobile for the first time. He also sat on Daddy's lap and watched the psychedelic Mac screen-saver while listening to the family iTunes catalogue. He liked Frank Zappa but not Captain Beefheart. He was very engaged and aware for the first time with both sound and visual stimuli.
Today, Waylon found his fingers and promptly inserted them into his mouth. He has begun to suck his thumb like his Mommy used to do. He also enjoyed the majority of Daddy's music collection, especially anything with a funky bass line.

Waylon and Vladi on New Bumpers
3 weeks old today.
We went to the doctors office today.
Vladi has surpassed his birth weight. He is now 5 lbs 15 ounces! That's three ounces greater than when he was born. Nice job bro'!
Waylon is still struggling to get back up to where he began. He did gain 4 more ounces and is now 6 lbs 3 ounces. Nice job getting above 6 lbs brother!
We are progressing well and next week will surely both be comfortably gaining weight at a nice clip. Mommy has us on a strict feeding schedule now. No more sleeping through feedings, and she even got the green light to supplement with more than one ounce of formula per feeding if she wants to. Maybe that will give her some time to pump so we have some of the good stuff when she's not around to give it to us one on one.
We are starting to be more efficient in our pooping schedule. Now we save it up and do it only a few times per day (but when we do it we do it BIG), instead of making mommy and daddy change us 12 times per day.
OK - brother Waylon is crying now. I think he needs a new diaper.
P.S. The bumpers are to keep us from rolling over while we sleep. We like to lay on our sides and our Dr said that is a no-no for a few more months. We don't mind them. They make us feel all cuddly.

First Outing
This afternoon we are going to Grandma and Grandpa Wood's house for a few hours while mommy and daddy go out for some grown-up time. This will be our first time out of the house for more than a trip to the doctor's or the post office. Grandma and Grandpa are all ready for us (at least they THINK they are). And being that it is Grandparent's Day it is pretty appropriate.
Mommy and Daddy are going to the Oyster Festival to have a beer and see ASIA in concert. Don't understand the appeal in that, but who can figure parents anyway?
Maybe Mommy will have some pictures of our day to post tomorrow. Until then - Happy Grandparent's Day!

No More Stumps!
Vladi's cord stump fell off today (Waylon's fell off earlier this week). Now both brothers can wear their many cute onesies without fear of ripping off their little stump. Horray! We have passed another milestone in baby development. It feels good to be making progress as babies.

Two Weeks Old
Today we are two weeks old. We had our first real Pediatricians appointment. They measured our heads - Waylon's is bigger by an inch - our bodies - we each grew one inch since we were born! - and weighed us.
Vladi gained 7 ounces in the past week, 5lbs 10 ounces, bringing him to two ounces shy of his birth weight. Waylon gained 3 ounces in the past week, 5 lbs 15 ounces, bringing him to 8.5 shy of his birth weight.
Vladi is catching up to his little brother!
Mom and Dad will continue to supplement our feeding with formula a few times per day until we get past our birth weight and even then may have to continue. Breast feeding two growing boys isn't an easy task - though mommy is doing her best every day.
Two weeks have flown by and at the same time seem like one continuous day. Night and day do not exist for us yet and we have sucked mommy into our timeless world. She is awake most hours of the day and what should be considered night. Daddy can sleep through the loudest screams - so far.
We have proved our dominance over Mrs. Jinx and Godzilla and they cower from us every chance they get. They are seldom in the same room as us, and when they are they approach us tentatively. Ha ha!! We rule!
We are getting better at opening our eyes and being cute. There are times throughout the day when we keep our eyes open for more than an hour at a time. Very big deal.
We are looking forward to meeting our Grandmother Adzentoivich who will be here in a few weeks to meet us for the first time. We got to hear Grandfather when he was here a few weeks ago but we were still inside mommy at the time. I guess we will have to wait until the holidays to meet him in person. We hear he is quite a character.
That's it from us today. Maybe mommy will put up some new pictures later this evening. Right now I think we will let her take a nap.

Hating Bath Time
I don't mind a little spit-up on my chin or even a little bit of poop on my tushy - but momy thinks she needs to bathe me anyway. What's a baby to do?
21st Century Dad and Vladi
We love the laptop ever since Mommy was obsessed with the pregnancy chat rooms when we were clusters of cells in her tummy. There's nothing like the heat of the battery or the whir of the hard drive...now that's the way to sooth me.
Mrs. Jinx and Waylon
Mrs. Jinx might think she is great just because she weighs 7 pounds...but I'll catch up to her before she knows what hit her!
Godzilla and Waylon
Yes, the cats are bigger than us now...but give us a year and we'll show them a thing or two!
